About Mass of the Air Mass of the Air is a televised Sunday mass for those who are sick, homebound, or who cannot attend Sunday mass in their parish. Mass of the Air is a ministry of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville, and was founded by Fr. Nick Rice in 1977. Since its beginning, the cost of producing Mass of the Air and purchasing TV airtime has been sustained entirely by the generous donations of its viewers. If you would like to help ensure that Mass of the Air continues its ministry, please see our Donations page. For information on how to include Mass of the Air in your will or estate planning, please call us. To all who have been so generous over the years, thank you! Mass of the Air is recorded at the Ursuline Motherhouse Chapel, 3105 Lexington Rd, Louisville, KY. All are welcome to join us for these tapings.
